Success Story #9

Actually he was a mediocre guy in the crowd from a small town Pandharkavda close to Maharashtra-Telangana border and not much serious in studies during his schooling.

No one in his family had the courage and resources to go for engineering studies.

He had the passion of playing cricket and his cricket idols were Anil Kumble, a mechanical engineer, Javagal Shrinath, an Instrumentation Engineer,  cricket veterans such as hard hitter K Shrikant, an electrical engineer,  S Venkatraghavan, EAS prasanna and of course the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. He wanted to be an engineer and play cricket like his idols.  He put in all efforts in his 12th and cleared the hurdle in distinction.

Somehow he could convince his family for engineering and started the search for a good engg college that not only provides good academic environment but also allows sports and extra curricular activities.

He chose one of the good college in Amravati that supports all he wanted.

Entry percentage wise Mechanical was the topmost branch at that time but his CET score landed him in Electronics branch.

Academically FY was without any issue for him, he cleared this hurdle with good grades..but In SY he had few backlogs due to his excessive cricketing.  He was an all-rounder player in college team and played at university level.

then came TY and Bapunna cup Ranji trophy selection trials together. He was in dilemma what to do but his passion led him to give more emphasis to cricket. As a result he had to take a year break. Ranji trophy was a great experience for him.

His academic come back next year returned him a distinction grade in his BE final.

He never had heard about competitive examinations other than UPSC-IAS but the new friends he made while playing for Ranji Trophy made him aware of many new unheard avenues.

He had decided by then that he wanted to be in administrative services.

Keeping his cricket bat and leather ball beside his study table he stared preparing for administrative services.

He was selected in CRPF as Assistant  commandant in 2016

It is said that to land on Moon you need to prepare yourself to jump on Mars. He thus started preparing for IAS. Though he couldn't make it to IAS but was selected in Indian Defence Estates Services (IDES) under ministry of Defense in 2017.

Currently he is posted at Kanpur Cantt. as  joint CEO. He has a big plush green ground to play cricket with his buddies and plays a lot. He is now again appearing for IAS exams.
